Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My path into dentistry began with a very personal experience. After undergoing my own smile transformation, I experienced firsthand how profoundly dentistry can change the way someone feels about themselves. It wasn’t just about teeth—it was about confidence, self-expression, and the freedom to show up fully in the world. That moment sparked a curiosity that quickly grew into a calling. I became fascinated by the unique blend of science, artistry, and human connection that dentistry requires, and I knew I wanted to build a career helping others experience that same transformation.

I began my academic journey at The Ohio State University before pursuing a Master’s degree in Medical Physiology, where I developed a deeper understanding of the biology that underpins health and healing. I later earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and completed a General Practice Residency at Denver Health. Throughout those years, another passion was always shaping my path—being in the mountains. As a backcountry and big mountain skier and snowboarder, the pull of the West was constant, and it ultimately led me to make Colorado home.

Today, as the founder of Aurum Dental Aesthetics, I’ve built a practice centered on thoughtful, elevated care. I have a deep commitment to continuing education and staying at the forefront of new technologies, materials, and techniques, completing more than 100 hours of advanced training each year. This dedication to clinical excellence has earned recognition as a 5280 Top Dentist for three consecutive years. My approach blends advanced clinical techniques with an artistic eye and a deeply personalized patient experience, with the goal of creating natural, confident smiles while delivering dentistry in a way that feels modern, comfortable, and genuinely meaningful for every patient who walks through the door.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path to where I am today was not without challenges. As a collegiate athlete, I balanced the demands of academics and athletics, learning early how discipline, resilience, and time management shape success. Along the way, I was told more than once that I wasn’t smart enough to become a dentist, and later that starting my own practice—especially with a model focused on elevated, patient-centered care—wouldn’t work. Those moments could have been discouraging, but instead they became fuel. I’ve always had a quiet appreciation for hearing what I “can’t” do. It pushes me to work harder, stay focused on my vision, and prove that persistence, curiosity, and belief in your craft can carry you much further than doubt ever could.

Because of the mentors, opportunities, and lessons that shaped my own path, supporting others has become an important part of my work. I recently created a group for women in dentistry to help foster connection and support for women navigating the profession. I host intimate dinners with fellow practice owners where we can openly share ideas, challenges, and strategies for building thoughtful, successful practices. Mentorship is something I care deeply about, so I regularly make myself available to dental students and colleagues—whether through conversations about career paths or welcoming them into the practice to shadow and learn. It’s a way to pass along the encouragement, guidance, and transparency that I wish I had more access to early in my own journey.
