What is LBR? 

LBR (Laser Bacterial Reduction) is a gentle, advanced way to reduce harmful bacteria. It’s a quick, painless, non-invasive addition to your dental cleanings, and an everyday example of how we’re elevating dental care for our patients at Aurum Dental Aesthetics.

The Process:

Our hygienist uses a handheld laser that kills bacteria under your gum line to prevent gingivitis, periodontal disease, reduce bleeding, improve healing, and eliminate bacteria that cause bad breath. The entire process takes 5-10 minutes and is barely noticeable by the patient.

Benefits:

LBR reduces the microbial load in the mouth, specifically in periodontal pockets, which can prevent the progression of periodontal disease and the need for more advanced treatments like traditional scaling and root planing (SRP). The same targeted bacteria is also responsible for halitosis, so LBR treatments help to mitigate bad breath as well. For patients with red, bleeding gums, LBR also stimulates tissue healing and reduces inflammation.

The Technology: 

At Aurum, we’re using the SiroLaser Blue by Dentsply Sirona, the first FDA-cleared dental laser with Triple-Wavelength-Technology, providing blue, infrared, and red wavelengths. This combo allows for a wide range of non-invasive healing applications.
